 I tend to stay away from military books and those that deal with PTSD.Only due to my own past. I thought I would find inaccuracies, but I was glad and happy that the author really did her research. She got everything down pack. From the military aspect to the PTSD problems. It was as though I was reading about several friends and their lives. Now I am going to go find the rest of the books and read them. Again, I really was not prepared for how accurate this book was.

I have never read a genie story like this. You always think of genies and their wishes as only 3 and often times they turn out for the best. But sadly for Dimitri that is not the case. He is being controlled by an evil man, and has to lie to the one person who loves him. I love how the story is written and how things come together. I will never look at a genie story again with the same eyes.

I halt in the doorway, taking in Syd's body. Unbelievably, she is back for round two. More unbelievably, I let the little crook into my house again. Every once in awhile I enjoy a good erotic book. And I have found a good one! Lady's Destiny is HOT. The story goes from the main female character, Iria's point of view to the main male character Dezso's point of view. And I enjoyed it that way. It gives you the story from two different ways. So you can see the overall picture. Often times when a story is set from one persons view you only get it halfway and have to imagine how the other characters see it. And the fact that this has all my favorite mythical animals and creatures? Only makes it that much better.

Let's talk about some HOT HOT HOT book guys. There's the guys from the Lord of the Underworld series, Black Dagger Brother Hood, Luxen series, Jace Wayland, Mangus Bane and soooooo many more. The authors who write about these males know what we readers are looking for. Abs, eyes, smiles, muscles and heart. They always start at the same. Brooding, alone, egotistical, only care about themselves or their mission. Take Paris, keeper of promiscuity from the series Lords of the Underworld. He is a man whore. He can only sleep with a person one time and that is it! But by the end of his book, he has found his true love and is able to feed his demon with sex with her. And THAT is what we love to read. How the man goes from macho to a puddle of goop for his true love. But getting her is never easy.

Now let's talk about the bad bad boys. The hot villains in stories. We love them all just as much as we love the good guys.Sometimes you want them more than the good guy! Most bad guys want the same thing, the good guy's girl. It makes them happy to thwart the good guys game. And the muscles. *sigh*

This story was interesting. I was not expecting some things. Such as what Aquila is. Right away I could also tell there would be a love triangle. Which I did not like, but it does work well with this story. Does she chose the one from her past, or someone from her future? Aquila slowly learns what she is, but it seems as though she is torn about WHO she is. She wants to belong, but at every turn there is something that shows her she cannot. The relationships with her family is also odd. Who should she trust? The ending was predictable. But it sets things up for the next book. Which I cannot wait to read.

I run for the car. The mass of people is dense and I keep bumping into dancers, drunkards and idiots – slowing my escape. A pair of hands grab my waist, and I think it’s Aaron. “Where’d you think you’re going?” a slimy voice slurs. It’s not Aaron. The guy’s sprawled out, he’s not moving but I know he’s not dead because he’s making a kind of gurgling noise. Someone rolls him onto his side but no one else tries to help him. They’re all too busy gawking at me; standing with my feet apart and my hands in fists by my side, my shoulders rising with my heavy breathing. Aaron comes rushing out of the mass then and takes in the scene. I hate to do it to him twice in one night but I turn and run again. This time he follows. “Aqua! Wait. Stop, please!” I hear his voice but keep running. Tears are falling now. I’m actually crying. How humiliating. I have to control my pace. I can run inhumanly fast, it would draw even more attention. I misjudge it, maybe deliberately, and Aaron catches me by the wrist before I get to my car. I glance behind. We’ve run a long way. There’s no one else here; the party’s in the distance, illuminated by the glowing bonfire. I stop, still facing away from him. He keeps hold of my wrist. “What happened?” he asks, concern evident in his voice. I swipe at the tears marring my cheek. “He groped me. I punched him.” I’m still sobbing but trying my hardest to hide it. “Maybe I hit him a bit hard.” “A bit hard? He looked comatose!” He almost sounds proud. “Are you alright? Did he hurt you?” “I’m fine, not hurt.” I turn then. He takes me in, in all my tear-streaked glory. I bet I look hideous. “Aqua... why did you run?” He asks it softly, watching me with veiled eyes. I know we’re not talking about the punch now. I don’t want this conversation though. “Did you see the guy? I could get eight to ten.” I mean it to sound light-hearted but it comes out sombre. He flashes his dimple. “No. Before, after I kissed you. Why did you run?”

I am a mother of two from Somerset, England as well as a full-time student at the University of the West of England, Bristol. I write for enjoyment and I love to read novels of various genres but my passion is fantasy. I enjoy letting my imagination free as my stories develop. My childhood was rural, full of mud and tractors, of climbing trees and going on explorations of the countryside. Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

So I started to read this series when the second book came out. Excitingly waiting for the new book to come out. Then a movie came out! I loved the way the series was going. The first 4 books kept me on the edge of my seat. Who was going to live, who was going to die. Are they related? Are they not? Who fell in love with who. You never knew. But sadly I was disappointed with the final book. They hyped it up so much, only for it to fall short. The ending was anticlimactic. But it does set everything up for the next series, which comes out this fall. I do suggest this book for young adults.
